The Better Life Institute (BLI), whom I greatly respect, provided this insight into weight loss programs in a recent newsletter. Good nutrition is essential for good dancing, so read and pass this information on to those whom you know are trying to shape up and shed pounds. Hope you have better health and can dance for years to come. You can visit the BLI web site ( for lots of other good advice.

You undoubtedly know that exercise is good for you, but some people look forward to working out like they look forward to a root canal. Here's a thought: find something physical that you love to do and use that as your workout.

Melanie, one of the BLI staff, started taking ballroom dance lessons. This is what she had to say:

"I didn't realize for the longest time just what great exercise dancing is until I went to a party and danced non-stop for an hour--then realized I was quite tired. But I was on top of the world and had enjoyed myself so much! Dancing is wonderful--it's so much fun, I don't even think of it as exercise, and I don't think exercise gets any better than that!"

You can enjoy exercise--just find what you like to do and get about doing it. Your better life awaits.
